2018 Competition season

LEVELS: FROM TRAINING TO FEI (INCLUDING PARA EQUESTRIAN)

DIVISIONS

  • CHILDREN less than 13 years of age

  • YOUTH 13-17 years of age

  • ADULT 18-49 years of age

  • SENIOR 50+ years of age

PERIOD COVERED: JANUARY 1, 2018 TO OCTOBER 31, 2018

  • SCORE REQUIREMENTS: THREE SCORES, AT LEAST ONE TEST FROM THE HIGHEST TEST OF THE LEVEL (TEST 3)

  • From three different Judges

  • From Canadian competitions, licensed HCBC shows with licensed judges (includes most schooling shows), Equine Canada Bronze, Silver or Gold shows or Dressage BC Ride a Test Program if your local area (within 200 kms) doesn't have three competitions

  • Average score of 60 percent or higher to qualify

PRIZES

  • Champions will win an embroidered cooler sponsored by Bates Tack Shop. Reserve Champions will win an embroidered saddle pad sponsored by The Dog & Pony Shop. Ribbons will be awarded to 6th place.

  • Award winners will be advised before November 31, 2018 - date to be determined

  • Awards will take place at the Annual General Meeting

  • Prizes can be mailed at recipient's expense

RULES

  • There is no fee to apply

  • The rider must be a Dressage BC member

  • Deadline for online application and submission of results is October 31, 2018

  • Official results must be submitted through online form. Photocopies of scores will be upon request of committee if needed

  • The rider must be a permanent resident of BC

  • Age stated must be as of January 1 of 2018

  • Cross entries between Divisions are not permitted

  • Horse/Rider combinations may not win Champion at the same level in consecutive years

  • Dressage BC reserves the right to award prizes in order of the highest qualified entries received

  • Western Tests will not be eligible for these awards

Awards are available to both Open and Amateur riding at HCBC licensed competitions (includes most schooling shows), Equine Canada Bronze, Silver or Gold Competitions (includes some Breed shows)

Tests ridden may be from HCBC or WDAA (USEF) Tests

ELIGIBLE LEVELS:

  • Introductory
  • Training (or Basic)
  • First Level - Third Level
  • AQHA Overall High Point. Breed Award. Halter with name plate

PRIZES

  • Champion for each of the above levels will be presented with an embroidered Cooler
  • Reserve Champion for each level will be presented with halters with engraved name plates.
  • Ribbons will be awarded to 6th place
  • Awards will take place at the AGM
  • Awards are to be picked up or can be mailed at the recipient's cost
  • Dressage BC reserves the right to award prizes in order of the highest qualified entries received

SCORE REQUIREMENTS

  • THREE SCORES FROM THREE DIFFERENT JUDGES FROM LICENSED CANADIAN COMPETITIONS WITH LICENSED JUDGES, HCBC, EC BRONZE SILVER OR GOLD: ONE SCORE MUST BE FROM THE HIGHEST TEST OF THE LEVEL
  • Average score of 60 percent or higher to qualify
  • The final percentage score for the winner will be verified.
  • The average score of three tests ridden in the qualifying period will be used to calculate the final result

DRESSAGE BC COACHING AWARDS

THANKS TO THE GENEROSITY OF NOEL ASMAR OF ASMAR EQUESTRIAN, DRESSAGE BC IS ABLE TO PROVIDE COACHING AWARDS EACH YEAR.

PURPOSE

The purpose of Dressage BC's Coaching Awards is as follows:
• to recognize the contributions of dressage coaches at all levels of dressage
• to create motivation by ensuring that successful coaches are recognized
• to attract attention to Excellence in Coaching

CRITERIA

Coaches are eligible for the awards by fulfilling one of the following criteria:

  • The Coach is a current member of Dressage BC
  • The Nominator is a current member of Dressage BC
  • The coach of record at the time coaches an athlete or a Provincial or National team
  • The Coach demonstrates excellence in coaching by a significant and substantial contribution to the development of the dressage performance of individuals and/or the advancement of coaching

Examples:

  • coach of one or more successful riders
  • coach of several successful children, youth, young riders or adult amateurs
  • coach who has developed a focussed program (children, youth, adult amateur, Para Equestrian, FEI etc.)
  • coach who has developed other coaches (through education, training and/or mentoring)

AWARDS

The winning Coaches will receive a beautiful jacket compliments of Asmar Equestrian with custom embroidery of the Dressage BC logo

Dressage BC would like to recognize the extraordinary contributions of individuals who volunteer their time and skills to the dressage community in BC. Up to three Awards will be given out at the AGM.
